FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

TV Personality Andrea Goeglein Continues to Empower Professionals

By Mary Agnes Antonopoulos - Monday, August 18, 2008

Andrea Goeglein, Ph.D. does it again!  Nationally acclaimed author, business woman, TV personality and founder of the Prescott Professional Women’s Conference will welcome professionals from all over the country to her upcoming free teletalk on Monday, August 18th, at 5pm Pacific Time. In this talk (part of a series of freeteletalks) Dr. Goeglein will feature the book Shifting Sands: A Guidebook for Crossing the Deserts of Change, by Steve Donahue.

Dr. Goeglein is often featured on AM Arizona as “Dr. Success,” and shares her expertise and passion for applied Positive Psychology and self-help books. She is also an executive mentor, motivational speaker, and author. As Dr. Success, Andrea provides unique insights and exercises designed to guide executive development and maximize the success and happiness of all who cross her path.  These teletalks are part of that work.

The author of Shifting Sands, Steve Donahue, builds on an experience from his youth, where he and a friend literally seized the moment and unexpectedly crossed the Sahara Desert. Steve uses this as a life metaphor for the long journey of crossing an ever-changing desert when we “expect” to be climbing a well-planned mountain. In this book, the author shares that one evening the group had carefully planned their next step in the journey – it was completely laid out, right down to where the hills and sands and markings were. When they awoke the next morning, there had been a sandstorm and everything was different.

This becomes one of the author’s core revelations:  Use a compass instead of a map. Rather than following someone else’s instructions and roadmap to the summit, Donahue encourages his readers to use our own inner compass and intuitive guideposts to plot our path day by day. Life is ever changing, and no amount of maps and markers can really plot our course – and if we think about it, would we even really want that?

Dr. Success will highlight why this book is a MUST for anyone seeking to move forward on the road to success and professional development, as well as how to apply the book to navigate life’s unforeseen events. The call in number for this talk is 218-486-1300 (Bridge 437683), and there is no charge for attending. The book is available at www.ServingSuccess.com or any local library.
