Peter Schenkman is Joining GNYTA Member - Taxi Club Management Inc.

New York, NY - August 12, 2009 -- The Greater New York Taxi Association is pleased to announce that Peter Schenkman is joining GNYTA member, Taxi Club Management, Inc., as Logistics Coordinator and has been unanimously appointed as the Senior Executive Advisor of the GNYTA. Mr. Schenkman is leaving his post as Assistant Commissioner for Safety and Emissions at the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission.

In that position he was responsible for ensuring that New York taxis are among the safest, cleanest and most fuel efficient for hire vehicles in the United States.

Prior to joining the TLC, Peter was Director of Transportation for the New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) which is responsible for virtually the entire New York City vehicle fleet.

There he was responsible for developing and implementing an interagency vehicle fleet management software program which is used throughout the City’s numerous agencies.

Peter is joining Taxi Club Management, one of the most dynamic and progressive companies in New York, the pioneer and leading innovator of hybrid and wheelchair accessible taxis nad GNYTA, the progressive owners’ association.
