Anne Arundel Women's Golf Organization Targets
High Risk Women and Youth in Lower Socioeconomic Areas

Pasadena, MD - April 07, 2008 - "Our golf program is modeled to target women and youth who would appreciate a positive outlet. An outlet that would allow them to get involved with positive people, rebuild torn families and promote self-worth. Increasing these attributes will promote troubled women and youth to increase their self worth by continuing their education and mapping a better career path. This will not only increase their socioeconomic status but strengthen the local economy once these women are gainfully employed and paying taxes", said Jeanette Ortegon of Anne Arundel Women’s Golf Organization (AAWGO ).

AAWGO has partnered with several community based programs that provide educational training, mentoring, and employment readiness skills to our potential clients. This allows clients to successfully participate in our golf outreach programs without the stress of first completing basic educational programs. They have professional golf instructors, golf fitness instructors and nutritional experts available to ensure their clients are not only learning the game of golf but are properly trained and conditioned to play the game effectively.

For the past year, Anne Arundel Women’s Golf Organization has been in direct contact with incarcerated women and youth girls who are completing their sentences in pre release facilities. "We understand the need for positive change. Introducing golf could be a form of change that is needed to re-route our women and youth in the right direction. The continued support and contributions from the local community into Anne Arundel Women’s Golf Organization programs will enables them to continue their outreach programs in the community. Let’s bring awareness and change to the Anne Arundel and Baltimore communities by encouraging our women and youth to come out and play the game of golf", stated Ortegon.

They will be starting a women’s golf league at Compass Pointe Golf Course on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 5:30 p.m. they will also be hosting a meet and greet social at Dave and Busters in Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover, MD on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. The general public is invited to come out and learn more about their women’s golf program.

Anne Arundel Women's Golf Organization is also working a project that will duplicate the "Maryland Crab" arts mural project by coordinating the "Golf Ball" arts murals project and placing them on display in front of different golf courses in Baltimore and surrounding counties. The organization will also be presenting their golf program to a Baltimore Chapter of Girls Scouts of America. Founder, Jeanette Ortegon feels there is so much to do and encourages all organizations to assist in anyway they can.

AAWGO golf program is always looking for volunteers for their summer charity programs and new members to join their golf organization. They envision building upon our collaborative success by developing our women and youth’s mental and physical abilities by experiencing the enjoyable game of golf.

Anne Arundel Women's Golf Organization's (AAWGO) sole purpose is to enhance the lives of women and youth girls by helping them face demanding and challenging circumstances with enthusiasm and strength by introducing to them the game of golf. Anne Arundel Women's Golf Organization is dedicated to improving the quality of life for high risk women and youth in lower socioeconomic areas, which will make it easier to deal with daily challenges they one day will overcome. Anne Arundel Women's Golf Organization will identify women and youth girls who are in need of assistance and uplifting through outreach programs, adult and youth development services and community involvement.
